Special Dances

Bride and Groom’s First Dance

We usually start off the dance portion of the reception with a special dance showcasing the new Bride and Groom. This is typically a song that the Bride and Groom selected. This song can be the first slow song you ever danced to, a song from a special movie, or a song that has special meaning to both of you.

Bridal Party Dance

This dance typically follows the Bride and Groom’s first dance. It can be a slow song selected by you or the bridal party, or a fun upbeat selection to get the party started. Note: not all weddings have a bridal party dance. Ask your DJ for advice.

Bride and Father Dance

This is a special dance that the Bride and her father will share. It can be a song that tells your father how much he means to you, and sometimes it can be a song about how your father feels about you. Please talk to your father about this memorable dance.

Groom and Mother Dance

This is a special dance that the Groom and his mother will share. It can be a song that tells your mother how much she means to you, and sometimes it can be a song about how your mother feels about you. Please talk to your mother about this memorable dance. Note: some Brides and Grooms wish to combine the Bride and Father and Groom and Mother Dance together. This saves on time, and in some cases, certain people don’t like to be the center of attention.

Dollar Dance

The Dollar Dance gives your guests a chance to dance with the new Bride and Groom. Typically the Best Man and Maid of Honor collect the money from each person who wishes to dance with you. Some people will give much more than one dollar, and this can be a good way to make some extra spending cash for the honeymoon.

Longest Married Couple Dance

The DJ invites all married couples to the dance floor. The DJ plays a slow song, and as the song progresses, the DJ will announce that anyone married less than … please leave the dance floor. The DJ starts with five years and progresses until there is one final couple left on the dance floor. The DJ will then take the microphone and ask the winning couple how long they have been married, and if they have any advice for the newly married couple. Sometimes this dance can be very funny, or very touching to your family and friends.
